Sure it's not a new idea but for the most part, only utility power generating stations mastered this challenge. After all, Utilities needed to master this from long long ago when you consider that the national and even international power grid is all connected to the same larger power grid.

So what changed to bring this concept to a smaller practical and flexible offering? A few things but from the techical perspective it boils down to one answer - higher speeds and reduced costs of required microprocesors to make it possible by the system controllers.
